Award in Delivering Training

Who should attend?

The HABC Level 3 National Award in Delivering Training (ADT) is designed for people who train others within their own organisation. It is a general qualification for teaching adult learners.

When combined with specific qualifications, e.g. in food safety, health & safety, participants can become trainers in these specialists fields.  

 

 

What will they learn?

The course will familiarise students with their roles and responsibilities as trainers / instructors. They will learn principles of session and assessment planning and how to conduct a successful lesson.

 

 

Course Content

·   The Teaching Cycle

·   Establishing a positive learning environment

·   Inclusive and positive communication

·   Learning and teaching approaches

·   Initial, formative and summative assessments

·   Importance of record keeping

·   Developing a scheme of work and lesson plans

·   Delivery a session

·   Constructive feedback and self evaluation

 

 

Course duration

3 days, 8 contact hours per day, usually 8.30 – 5.30 pm. For more than 6 candidates an additional day will be required.

 

Assessment

Written assignments to be completed by end of the course, including a scheme of work and a session plan, plus a practical assessment in delivering a micro-teaching session including self evaluation. Candidates must demonstrate achievement of all learning outcomes in assessments as well as in  micro-teach sessions.

 

Certificate

National Award in Delivering Teaching by HABC and Safety & Leisure Training Middle East*.

 

Entry requirement

Participants should have intermediate spoken and written English skills and must be min. 16 years old. Learners should have relevant qualifications within their own area of expertise.
