BASIC LIFE SUPPORT ADULT PLUS

Who should attend?
Individuals who want to learn basic First Aid skills and clients who require knowledge of specific conditions as they have the possibility to choose 4 to 6 additional subjects to suit requirements.

What will they learn?
Students gain basic skills and knowledge to deal with emergency situations that can happen daily at work or at home. They will gain confidence to use these skills in practical application on themselves.

Course Content Core Elements

• Managing an incident
• Assessing a casualty
• Severe bleeding
• Shock
• Heart Attack
• Unconsciousness
• First casualty examination and Recovery Position
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (adult)

Supplementary Elements (30 min per subject)

• Secondary casualty examination
• Bites and stings
• Minor bleeding
• Burns
• Heat exhaustion and heat stroke
• Fainting
• Choking (adult)
• Asthma
• Low blood sugar
• Head Injuries
• Seizures
• Stroke
• Poisons
• Sprains & Strains
• Fracture

Course duration
Core elements: 4 hours (1/2 day) plus 30 minutes for each additional subject up to a total of maximum 6 subjects

Assessment
Continuous assessment during the course, no written exam; candidates must show competence to apply learned skills prompt, safe and effective.

Certificate and Validity
Basic Life Support Adult Plus certificate from Safety & Leisure Training Middle East*, valid for 3 years.

Entry requirement
Participants should have Basic English skills. Minimum age: 16 years. For children 10 - 15 years please contact us for further details.
