Who should attend?
Anyone who wants to gain First Aid skills to deal with life-threatening conditions commonly suffered by children and infants. It is suitable for any student, even without prior knowledge.
What will they learn?
Students gain the basic skills and knowledge to deal with emergencies, to save life as well as casualty care. They will gain confidence to use these skills through practical application on themselves and on manikins.
Course Content
• Managing an incident
• Assessing a casualty
• Severe bleeding
• Shock
• Choking (child and infant)
• Unconsciousness
• First casualty examination and recovery position
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (child and infant)
Course duration
4 hours in total (1/2 day)
Assessment
Continuous assessment during the course, no written exam; candidates must show competence to apply learned skills prompt, safe and effective.
Certificate and Validity
Basic Life Support Children & Infants certificate from Safety & Leisure Training Middle East*, valid for 3 years
Entry requirement
Participants should have Basic English skills. Minimum age: 16 years.
