Beach Lifeguard Supervisor

Who should attend?
Recreation managers and supervisors who have responsibility for coordinating beach lifeguard operations and safety at the beach, but do not need to obtain the full beach lifeguard qualification. While there are some similarities to coordinating a pool lifeguard operation, the hazards and consequent safety requirements and lifeguard skills, for a beach area are substantially different and it is important for a beach lifeguard supervisor to understand these specific requirements.

What will they learn?
Students gain the skills and knowledge to implement safety procedures and to effectively deploy, coordinate and supervise a lifeguard operation at a beach. They will gain an understanding of the role of the lifeguard and how effective management and support can help to create a safer beach environment.

• Deployment of a effective lifeguard service

• Rescue equipment
• Legislation
• Normal Operating Procedures
• Emergency Action Plan
• Requirements for beach lifeguards
• Implementation of training programmes

Course duration
1 day (8 hours) in total

Assessment
Continuous assessment during the course, no written exam.

Certificate and Validity
Beach Lifeguard Supervisor certificate of attendance from Safety & Leisure Training Middle East.

Entry requirement
Participants should have Basic English skills; no swimming skills required. Minimum age: 18 years.
