Who should attend?
The CPR & AED course is designed to train individuals who require training in basic life support and the use of automated external defibrillation. It is suitable for any students, even without prior knowledge. This is an accredited qualification compliant with the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) in England and fully cognisant with industry and regulatory standards.
What will they learn?
This course will provide the necessary skills to manage a patient that is unconscious and not breathing normally including the use of an AED until the arrival of the emergency services. They will gain confidence to use these skills through practical application on themselves and on manikins.
Course Content
· Principles of Basic Life Support
· Cardiac Arrest
· Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
· Choking
· Safe use of an Automated External defibrillator (AED)
· Differences of using an AED on a child
· Recovery Position
· Reporting Procedures
· Maintenance and Troubleshooting using an AED
Course duration
8 hours in total
Assessment
Continuous assessment during the course as well as summative practical and oral assessment, no written exam. Candidates must show competence to apply learned skills prompt, safe and effective.
Certificate and Validity
Level 2 Award in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillator from Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC) and Safety & Leisure Training Middle East*, valid for 3 years. Wallet-sized card included.
