SLT Advanced First Aid

Who should attend?
Individuals who have already attended the Basic Life Support Adult & Basic First Aid course and want to learn more about First Aid. This is not a stand alone course.

What will they learn?
Students gain the skills and knowledge to deal with further emergency situations which can happen daily at work or at home. They will deepen and confirm their prior knowledge and skills and gain more confidence in practical application on themselves and on manikins.

Course Content

• Secondary casualty examination
• Asthma
• Drowning
• Hyperventilation
• Allergic Reaction
• Eye Injuries
• Low blood sugar
• Internal bleeding
• External bleeding on special sites
• Head injuries
• Epilepsy
• Dislocations
• Simple stabilisation of fractures
• Revision of first casualty examination, Recovery Position & CPR (adult)
• CPR for a drowning casualty

Course duration
8 hours in total (1 day)

Assessment
Continuous assessment during the course and final assessment; candidates must show competence to apply learned skills prompt, safe and effective.

Certificate and Validity
Advanced First Aid certificate from Safety & Leisure Training Middle East*, valid for 3 years.

Entry requirement
Participants must hold Basic Life Support Adult & Basic First Aid certificate, gained within the last six month. They should have good English skills. Minimum age: 15 years.

* Licensed First Aid Training company, approved by UAE Ministry of Health & DOHMS, Dubai
