Scope of Position: The Lifeguard/ Pool Attendant is responsible for assisting in supporting and enforcing the rules, regulations, and safety of the pool facility. They will ensure the cleanliness of the pool facility, and assist in all pool maintenance. They will provide efficient and courteous services to guests and members at all times, and have thorough knowledge and details of all spa facilities and services.
Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates the Fairmont’s ServicePlus Standards in all interactions. Welcomes and assists guests’ according to FHR Brand Standards and is an ambassador of Fairmont Bab Al Bahr by providing memorable guest experiences. Demonstrates a commitment to provide warm, anticipative service to exceed the needs and expectations of our discerning guests. Monitors activities in swimming pool areas to prevent drowning, accident and injury. Prevents accidents through enforcements of policies, rules, and regulations
• Inspects facilities for cleanliness, assists in daily pool, locker room, deck cleaning, and reporting work orders promptly. Assists in the maintenance of the swimming pool, as well as monitoring and maintaining the pool filtration systems and water chemistry. Maintains accurate records as required by provincial regulations. Handles guest complaints and solves problems to the degree possible. Works with related hotel departments to ensure efficiency in meeting guest needs. Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager. Remains observant, notes preference, and responding accordingly to guest inquiries and requests and follows Occupational Health and Safety regulations. Reports suspicious people, behavior, and vehicles to Hotels Security. Ensures adherence to Fairmont’s Code of Ethics Qualifications: Must possess outstanding guest service skills, professional presentation and sophisticated verbal and written communication skills
• Must be guest-oriented, have a vibrant personality, and radiate enthusiasm to assist people. Proficient in English language (verbal and written) with a second or third language as an asset. Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever changing environment. Must be flexible in terms of working hours, and able to work with little or no supervision. Must be able to work at an outdoor facility, to handle exposure to all types of weather conditions, including exposure to sun. Previous experience in pool operations preferred. Possess or able to obtain a valid lifeguard certification. Possess or able to obtain a valid first aid and CPR Basic Rescuer certification |
