Who should attend?
Anyone who works, or wants to work, as a professional lifeguard at a swimming pool. UAE legislation states that every public pool requires qualified lifeguards. Even at private pools, such as community pools, the presence of trained lifeguards is essential to avoid accidents and save lives.
What will they learn?
Students gain the skills and knowledge to deal with emergencies that may occur in the pool and the surrounding areas. They learn the principles of effective Lifeguarding, diverse rescue techniques, how to save lives and prevent further injuries. They will gain confidence to use these skills through practical application on themselves, manikins and in the pool.

• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (adults, children and babies)
• 2-operator CPR
• Use of pocket mask
• Legislation and Standard Operating Procedures
Course duration
6 days in total, 8 ½ hours per day; 6th day is assessment day.
Assessment
Continuous assessment during the course, plus a final independent assessment (practical and oral) where candidates must demonstrate competence in applying skills promptly, safely and effectively. There is no written exam.
Certificate and Validity
Internationally recognised Pool Lifeguard qualification from Royal Life Saving Society UK, valid for 2 years.
Entry requirement
Participants should have Basic English skills and must be able to swim 50m in less than 60 seconds, swim 100m continuously on front & back, tread water for at least 30 seconds and surface dive to the deepest part of the pool. Minimum age: 16 years.
