Who should attend?
People that work in a pool environment, such as pool attendants and service staff, who may come into a situation where they have to carry out a rescue from the pool side or may support the lifeguard team. This course is NOT a lifeguard qualification.
What will they learn?
Students gain basic skills and knowledge to deal with emergencies that may occur at the pool side. They will gain confidence to use these skills through practical application on themselves, manikins and in the pool.
Course Content
• Land based and wading rescue techniques
• Use of rescue equipment
• Landing and lifting
• Casualty recognition and rescue safety
• Treatment of an unconscious casualty incl. Recovery Position
• Pool hazards and accident prevention
• Pool Supervision, systems of work and communication
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (adults and children)
Course duration
8 hours (1 day)
Assessment
Continuous assessment during the course. Candidates must show competence in applying skills promptly, safely and effectively. There is no written exam.
Certificate and Validity
Pool Safety Certificate issued by Safety & Leisure Training Middle East, valid for 2 years.
Entry requirement
Participants should have Basic English skills. There no swimming skills required, but people should be prepared to go into the shallow water as they will conduct wading rescues.
